Dog stocking fillers: Christmas gifts for dogs from our Hereford deli

Yak bars, beef moon bone, rabbit ears, salmon sticks and duck feet dog treats on a festive dark green background with stars and snowflakes

Somebody in your house has four paws, a waggy tail and absolutely no idea Christmas is coming. That’s what makes dog stocking fillers so much fun. Whether you’re filling a stocking for your own dog or hunting for Christmas gifts for dogs in the family, the treats on our shelves in The Atrium, Maylord Orchards, are a lovely place to start.

We’ve grouped some favourites by the kind of dog you’re shopping for. Every treat has a chew strength, from Gentle to Extra tough, so you can match it to your dog. Our guide to choosing the right chew explains the scale if you’d like the detail.

How our pick ‘n’ mix wall works

The pick ‘n’ mix wall is the easiest way to build a stocking. We stock over 100 natural treats and chews, and you can buy them by the piece or by weight. Grab a bag, fill it with whatever your dog fancies, and we’ll weigh it for you at the counter. Then just pay at the counter.

You can mix and match as much as you like. A few crunchy bits, a couple of chews and some little nibbles soon add up to a stocking full of surprises. Not sure what to choose? Ask us at the counter and we’ll help you find something that suits your dog.

For small dogs and gentle chewers

If your dog prefers something light, these are all Gentle on our scale.

  • Plain Rabbit Ears are 100% rabbit ear and a nice light chew for smaller dogs. You’ll find them on the pick ‘n’ mix wall, so grab one or a handful.
  • Pork Crunch is made from pork inner ear. Smaller dogs can enjoy a piece as a proper chew, while bigger dogs treat it as a crunchy snack.
  • Puffed Pig Snouts are baked until they’re light and crunchy.
  • Chicken Feet and Duck Feet are simple, single-ingredient crunchy treats.

For keen chewers

Some dogs mean business on Christmas morning. These are Tough or Extra tough, for dogs who like to work at a treat.

There are plenty more in our long-lasting chews and hooves and horns.

For nibblers and training-size treats

Little treats are perfect for topping up a stocking, and they’ll come in handy long after Boxing Day. Pop a few in your pocket for a winter walk. Our guide to dog walks in Hereford has seven routes to try.

You’ll find more bags of bite-size treats in our treat bags section.

Something different

Fancy a festive change from everyday beef and chicken?

For a proper Christmas dinner feel, pair a Gourmet Pheasant and Partridge Pâté with a LickiMat Slomo. Spread the pâté over the mat and let your dog lick it clean. See all our pâtés and LickiMats.

Lots of the treats in this list have just one ingredient. Our guide to single-ingredient treats explains what that means.

Gifts for the dog lover, too

Buying for a friend’s dog? A bag from the pick ‘n’ mix wall makes a lovely gift, and an Ace K9 Tote Bag is a nice extra for the human that’ll carry the whole haul home. Have a look at our gifts and extras.

A quick word on safe chewing

Pick a chew that’s the right size for your dog, too big to swallow whole. Always stay with your dog while they chew, take a chew away once it’s small enough to swallow, and make sure there’s always fresh water nearby.

Come and choose in person

Online ordering is paused for now, so every treat here is waiting for you at the deli counter in Maylord Orchards, Hereford. Dogs are welcome inside, so bring yours along and let them help choose. You can grab a drink at the café while you’re here.

Plan your visit and come and choose in person. We’d love to help you fill that stocking.
